Location:
Huerna. Spain
Huerna. Spain
Key data:
The viaduct, 492 m long, consists of 13 spans of 37 m in length. Its width is 22 m, accommodating two lanes in the direction of Oviedo (downhill) and 3 lanes in the direction of León (uphill). The structure, designed by CARLOS FERNÁNDEZ CASADO S.L, is completely prefabricated, constituting a unique and innovative example at the time of construction: prestressed beam deck and upper slab executed on pre-slabs, supported by reinforced concrete piers. The bridge was built between 1981 and 1982.
Services:
Damage inspection, study of project documentation, performance of non-destructive and semi-destructive tests (tensile strength, deformation modulus, weldability, etc.) of structural elements and samples obtained from them. Analysis of test results. Finite element modelling. Verification of stresses and safety and durability conditions. Proposed repair/reinforcement for future use.
