Damage Study and Rehabilitation Project at Los Barrios Terminal Dock

The facility is dedicated to the unloading of coal destined for the neighboring Los Barrios Thermal Power Plant, the handling of general solid bulk and providing berthing line and storage surface services. The piers are supported on large diameter piles prefabricated and driven into the ground, and their decks are composed of reinforced concrete structures, some prefabricated elements having been used in the case of the connecting dock deck. The structure presented durability problems due to the marine environment, so INTEMAC was commissioned to evaluate the structure and its subsequent repair project.
